A Candida diet can be tough going as some entire foods that used to be a staple in the diet are completely forbidden. Many people on the Candida diet often fail because they miss their pasta and white rice too much and eventually give in.

Quinoa just might be the answer and provide more variety for those on a Candida Diet as it can be substituted in dishes that call for pasta or rice while all the while being a much healthier alternative. Quinoa (keen-o-wha) isn’t a true grain but a seed that originally was grown in South America. What makes Quinoa a great substitute is it’s nutritional value. It is the only “grain-like” food to have a complete amino acid profile so it is a complete protein source. It is naturally gluten

Why are Doctors so Afraid to Diagnose Chronic Candida?

By admin, 12 May, 2010, No Comment

People can struggle for years with unexplained medical conditions. They can go from doctor to doctor and have all kinds of tests run. After awhile the doctor usually comes up with a diagnosis of IBS or chronic fatigue when tests really can’t reveal the source of the patient’s problem.

Why is Chronic Candidiasis seldom considered as a diagnosis when usually the symptoms are quite obvious? There are a few reasons for this hesitation on the part of the medical community.

First of all the notion that a person could have a system wide candida infection was not even popularized until William Crook, MD wrote about systemic Candidiasis in his book The Yeast Connection in 1983. So prior to this there was virtually no history or studies to draw from and quite frankly until just a few years ago not much research has been done.  Research dollars go to high paying diseases such as cancer.

Share: A Candida Diet Saved My Life but Now the Yeast May be Back

By tdomf_1ebe2, 15 April, 2010, 3 Comments

In September 09 , I fell ill suddenly and was brought to hospital. I experienced a severe blotchy, raised rash on my arms, legs and stomach. I had an extremely high temperature, low blood pressure, a urinary tract infection, severe joint pain to the point I couldn’t move my arms or legs at some stages, swelling of my joints, strep-throat, complete loss of appetite and abdominal pain.

I spent 3 weeks in hospital where the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me and carried out test after test, giving me all sorts of medication that only made the condition worse. As I was let home, the sickness persisted and I was housebound for a month afterwards . Eventually when I was sick and tired of getting no results from doctors treatment, I went to the integrated center of medicine in Naas, Dublin. There having undergone some tests , the doctor was able to tell me I had leaky gut syndrome and a very bad candida infection in my blood.

I was given a candida diet plan that wasn’t easy to follow
