Ingredients
These can be adjusted according to how much you wish to make, but this salsa is best if eaten withing three days from preparation. Also for a variation, you can add a medium avocado for a slightly different taste.
- 5 medium ripe tomatoes diced and drained
- 1 large onion diced
- 1/2 clove of fresh garlic finely diced
- Fresh or dried Cayenne pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (coriander) chopped
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- Sea salt to taste.
- 6 organic whole wheat flour tortillas
- 1 cup coconut oil
Directions
Once the first seven ingredients are prepared, combine them and stir, adjusting the cayenne and salt to your taste. Be sure to drain the tomatoes before adding them or your salsa will be too watery. Set aside or the flavors to meld a bit.
Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet or wok. The oil should be very hot. Cut each whole wheat tortilla into 8 triangles. Place the triangles in the hot coconut oil and fry for about a minute on each side. They will be golden brown and crispy when done. Drain them on some paper towels.
Serve the Salsa with the fresh tortilla chips and enjoy.
That’s all there is too it and this recipe is loaded with many of the best Candida fighting herbs we know of. Although this is a snack recipe, I’ve been known to sit down with a bowl of this salsa and it becomes my dinner as I can’t stop eating it!

You are saying to eat whole wheat tortillas, which are not allowed on the Candida diet! It is so hard to get the right answers most of the time about this condition, but not bieng able to eat wheat is one that everyone agrees on!! If you are going to put a recipe online, that is great, but don’t mislead people to thinking they can eat things they can’t!!
@Sharona- I agree with you that there is often conflicting information regarding the Candida diet and that is because it isn’t an exact science and what works for some might not exactly work for others. Wheat is on the do not eat list, but I think some clarity should be made in regards to wheat. Refined wheat flour is easily converted to sugar by the body and has a higher glycemic index. Whole wheat or whole meal products have a lower glycemic index and will not have the same effect on blood sugar levels or sugar levels in the intestines. Refined wheat products should be completely avoided but whole wheat products can be consumed in moderation like suggested in the recipe. If some prefer to substitute this with veggie chips that is fine, but no one is being misled and people can be successful including some whole wheat unleavened products in their diet.
